How to descale your steamer
Over time, deposits and scale appear on the walls of the water tank. To prevent deterioration of heater performance, the instrument should be cleaned.
How to descale your steamer at home:
Pour water with vinegar into the tank (it is recommended to pour 1 teaspoon per glass of water).
Turn on the device and let the liquid boil for 5-10 minutes.
Drain the water, rinse the reservoir and wipe dry.
To descale your steamer, you can use special descaling products instead of vinegar.
Scale in the devices settles not only on the walls of the container and the heating element. It also forms on pump parts, hose and other elements. Therefore, other parts also need to be cleaned periodically. To check the condition of the working elements for limescale deposits, you need to disassemble the steamer.
Some models have a self-cleaning function . If turned on, the steam under strong pressure will begin to remove impurities. This is very convenient, as the device removes plaque on its own. All that is required from the user is to pour water, turn on this function and, at the end of cleaning, pour out the liquid with limescale residues
There are manual and vertical (floor-standing) steamers. The first are compact, lightweight devices with low power. Here the container and the steaming nozzle are one design. Some models resemble an electric kettle and work on the same principle. You can use the handheld steamer when traveling, when there is no way to iron things. With this device, you can straighten folds on lightweight fabrics.
Floor standing – powerful dimensional devices, the design of which assumes the presence of a separate container for liquid, a steam hose, nozzle and stand. To flatten things, they must be suspended. The vertical steamer can be used for a longer time due to the large volume of the tank. They are great for home use as well as for professional purposes (in the atelier). They have more power and a stronger steam jet, which means that the steaming process is quick and efficient. The disadvantages include large dimensions – the device is inconvenient to transport.
